Abraham's Vision

Adeeb Yousif, Unity Program Co-Educator-At-Large

Adeeb Yousif was born in the village of Guldo in Darfur, Sudan and received his BA from Dongola University (Northern Sudan). During his undergraduate studies, Adeeb was a human rights activist and formed two associations, Friends without Borders and Kordofur, both of which promote unity between students from Kordofan and Darfur. In April 2001, Adeeb co-founded the Sudan Social Development Organization, a human rights, humanitarian relief, and development NGO. He then helped develop the Darfur Emergency Response Operation, which runs programs for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and host communities in Darfur. Due to his human rights activism, Adeeb has been detained twice by the Sudanese government, for close to one year, and endured torture during this time. Adeeb is currently the Executive Director of Darfur Reconciliation and Development Organization and in a Master's degree program in International Studies at the University of San Francisco. He is our Unity Programs Bay Area Educator-At-Large, and will be working with all three of our local Unity Program groups.
